I want to Block YouTube

I want to block YouTube from my kids. Full stop. I need to block YouTube from specific devices. 

Every single inappropriate thing my children have seen is from YouTube. 

Every nightmare my children have ever had is from YouTube. 

Every annoying Minecraft video is on YouTube. 

Every bit of misogynist trash my 4 boys has been exposed to is from YouTube. 

How do I block YouTube on all TVs, but allow it on my computer?  The only reason I need YouTube on my computer is for work training videos etc. 

 

I know there is a solution. I’m not sure why Google won’t allow this. I mean except for the 💰 💰 💰

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about YouTube! 

I've looked into this previously a d couldn't find a way to do this without purchasing a DNS server style package which allows web addresses to be blocked. I don't believe Google WiFi will allow this.

Like you said google wouldn't want people blocking their own website because of money revenue for them.

Regular home routers usually does not support blocking certain sites for certain devices, Google is not alone. Take Asus for instance, it supports blocking sites for all devices, but not for just some devices.

Mayby Netgear Orbi dupports it with its' parental control features, I don't know:

Maybe this can be solved by controlling the devices instead? Google has "Family Link", Microsoft has "Family Safety", Apple has something too.

If you want to solve this properly on network level you'll be moving towards prosumer and enterprise products. One solution I know of is "UniFi" from Ubiquiti.
