purchased open box nest wifi 6.  model 66zuc

could not get it setup with my xfinity xfi router/modem.   i had turned on bridge mode, nothing then worked.   Was able to get it working with brdige mode off, but now have two network id's.   i create a SSID of test, but google home gives me an error trying to change it, even to test2.

Do I have a bad device

Hi @87439am!

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m happy to hear you were able to change the SSID on your Nest WiFi router. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

Regarding your question, Bridge Mode is only needed when encountering specific cases of Double NAT. For most people, Double NAT does not affect Wi-Fi performance. However, it can be an issue if you play online games or use IP address assignments, port forwarding rules, or Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). For now, we recommend that you take a look at this post Bridge Mode.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Best regards,

Geremi
