Hi, I am thinking of getting a Synology NAS. A have 3 google wifi units (2.Gen). Will I be able to plug it in any of these with a cable,  or do I have to plug it into a router.

Would like to know if its possble before making the investment .

Kind regards

Johnny

Mine is happily plugged into a Nest WiFi Point unit which connects wirelessly to the Nest WiFi Router upstairs. No issues to report.

Hi, @JohnnyNJensen!

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you'd like to know if your Google Wifi devices are compatible with the Synology DS224+ NAS and whether a wired connection is required, either to the router or directly to the NAS. I'm happy to clarify.

Google Nest Wifi is compatible with NAS devices. However, for physical installation instructions, you should contact your NAS device provider. To set up the device in the Google Home app, you can refer to the following article: Port forwarding or port opening

Please feel free to reply if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Ana
