For many months, I have used an L2TP VPN for work through my Nest WiFi router. Starting this week, however, I have been unable to do so.
The Windows error logs claim that the remote client is not responding. This problem only happens when my connection routes through the Nest Wifi. If I connect the laptop directly to the modem, or if I connect to a different network altogether, the VPN works as it should. This proves that the problem isn't the laptop, ISP, or the VPN itself. The only candidate left is the Nest WiFi router.
This problem has persisted through a complete factory reset of the Nest WiFi.

Hi David_,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with connecting to your VPN with Google Wifi. To isolate the issue, could you try doing a 2 minute power cycle on your Google Wifi before connecting to the VPN?
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Edward

I have power cycled the router as instructed. The router still refuses to allow L2TP VPN connections.

Hi David_,
Thanks for trying. Another thing that we could try is to change the DNS. To change and set a custom DNS, please try the following:
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Edward

Changing the DNS had no effect. I tried 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as requested, as well as Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1
