Mesh extension via ethernet port

  • Greetings

I currently have 3 mesh AP's in my house. Can these mesh AP's use their ethernet port(port with globe icon) to "extend" the entire mesh via external antennas (such as a pair of yagi antennas). I need internet in my shop which is 50 yards from where my current mesh exists.

Next idea: can I "bridge" the house mesh with another mesh in the shop?

Nest Wifi supports being connected to each other by ethernet, known as wired backhaul. An example of how that can be done correctly can be seen in following two diagrams:

About wired backhaul:

Just keep in mind that:

  • Nest Wifi Pro is not backward compatible, can't be mixed with prior generations.
  • Nest Wifi add-on point has no ethernet ports, while Google Wifi and Nest Wifi router do.
