NEST WIFI point as Nest audio

I had a NEST WIFI network which has a lot of connectivity issues. So got a new EERO Pro 7 WIFI mesh to resolve the performance issue. I do have 4 nest point and 2 home routers... I want to add the NEST point as a NEST audio so that i can control all my smart devices using voice control...

When i try to add WIFI point to eero it tries to create mesh and fails..

Added one point to account but it asks me to login in google home app and has no internet..

PLS help..

Hi pushpakladdha,

Thanks for posting in the community.

I understand that you're trying to repurpose your existing Nest Wifi Points as standalone speakers for voice control since you've replaced your main Nest Wifi Network with an Eero Pro 7 system. However, the Nest Wifi Points are attempting to join the Eero network as Wi-Fi mesh extenders and failing, leaving them without internet access. Do not worry, I'm here to help you with this.

When the Google Home app asks if you want to set it up as a mesh point for a router in the current Home, it should give you an option to set it up as a standalone Google Assistant speaker.

  • If it asks if it was sold as a pair with a router, select "No".
  • If it warns you that it needs a base router, acknowledge the warning and continue.
  • If the app successfully connects it to your existing, non-Google Wi-Fi network, the device will be added as a speaker only.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions or need further assistance.

Best regards,

Virna

Hi pushpakladdha,

That's great news! I'm so happy to know that you could set up your Nest Wifi Points as standalone speakers  successfully.

If you have any other questions about Google products or need more help with anything else, just let me know.

Best regards,
