Hello everybody,

please I need help with connecting my google nest Wifi to the internet through my ISP modem router Huawei DG8045.

I used to have Google wifi and it was working fine.

Now I want to upgrade my network so I reset everything to factory settings.

I have tried multiple phones IOS and android

the error message attached : "DNS resolution failed for googlehomefoyer-pa.googleapis.com:443:UNKNOWN:getaddrinfo("googlehomefoyer-pa.googleapis.com:443"):nodename nor servname provided, or not known (8)"

Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues connecting your Google Nest Wifi router to the internet DNS. So don’t worry; I would be more than happy to help you.

It's good to hear that you've already taken action on the matter. To continue addressing the issue, could you please help me by answering some questions?

  • How many Google Nest WiFi routers do you have?
  • Is the router you’re trying to configure the main one or a point?
  • How long have you had the Nest routers?
  • Since you upgraded the network, have you been unable to connect properly?

I'll be waiting for your response; please let me know if you have any other details that could be useful.

Regards,

Gabriela
