I've tried everything I can think of to reinstall (from factory reset) my 3 google pucks with a Static IP from our ISP.
It seems that the home app simply does not allow you to change to a static IP unless there is some way to use bluetooth to actually update the firmware on the puck as a router. Wan side IP, GW, Subnet.
The internet says it is a google development issue, and that it is impossible to do, so wanted to check before I get rid of these things and find something else. I am pinning my hopes on using bluetooth and some script. The main gotcha is this:
The app doesn't let you change to the static IP if the router is active, and instructs you to disconnect the wan side ethernet cable to put it offline. That part works. But, then you cannot save the new settings because the router has to be active again, which disables your ability to update the settings again. Even if your phone is on cellular or another backup router. This, on the surface, appears to be incredibly negligent on Googles part.
Thanks

Thanks, Byron. Unfortunately, since this had been an issue several times in the past I've already tossed them into the trash and got another mesh router from another company.
