Nest WIFI issues with some services

Since a believe the last update last month I have several issues with specific services / apps.  First my FireTv's don't work well with Amazon content, takes a long time to load videos.  Other serves like netflix work fine.  I have 3 fire Tv's and they all have the same issue.  Also at the same time firetvs have issues apps like Strava on two Pixel phones don't work.  Instagram is also sluggish.  Otherwise internet bandwidth is fine and normal using various speed tests.  The only way to fix the issue is to restart the nest router.  I do this via the app.  The issue happens ~ every 24 hours.  This was never an issue and has been rock solid since i believe the last firmware update.  Any thought or anyone else having issues?

I’ve recently been having the same problem with my nest router and mesh setup.  A restart of the main router seems to clear it.  This setup has been rock solid for over a year.  My issues include FireStick 4K trying to connect to Disney+ or HBO max.  They say there’s no network.  Restarting the main nest router resolves issue.

I think it's an issue with ipv6 and the latest release. I can toggle ipv6 and things work again without resetting.  I've disabled it and seeing if that fixes the issue.

Hi, kj301.

Sorry for the issues you've been seeing on your network. I imagine that's frustrating. To add on to what's been discussed here, there are people looking into whether or not there is some sort of bug with IPv6 right now. As far as I know, nothing has been verified either way, but I'll happily update things here once I find out more. If you have any additional questions in the meantime, just let me know.

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for reaching out.  Since disabling ipv6, Thursday (now Tuesday). I haven't had any issues or needed to restart my router.

My Google nest hub and minis also had sporadic issues with decoding speech after saying "hey Google".  And would say there was an error try again later.  This was also when ipv6 was enabled.  Since being disabled, this issue has gone away.  Just in case that help find an issue.

Thanks,

Kevin

Good to hear things have improved kj301.

We're looking into the issues with IPv6 now and possible reasons for why it's affecting networks. For now, if people don't need IPv6, it's best to stick with IPv4. Thanks so much for reporting back how you got things working for you, it's definitely a big help.

Before marking this as resolved, is there anything else you might need here?

Thanks.
