Nest Wi-Fi Pro compatible with nest cameras

Are nest cameras compatible with the nest Wi-Fi Pro? Are those outdoor and indoor cameras able to connect into the 3rd band (6)?

Hi @RafaRodriguez

Yes they are compatible.

Nest Wifi Pro uses one SSID but with 3 bands: 2.4GHz 5GHz and 6Ghz. This way mist devices are able to connect WiFi.

See THIS link for more information.

I disagree.
I recently got a nest camera (doorbell) and its not compatible with standard Nest Wifi so suspect same for pro. this issue is the google home software doesn't automatically change bands to 2.4GHzto setup the camera so you'll need to use a different WiFi network to setup - it is a pot luck scenario, if you are far away from router or a point then devices might all switch to 2.4Ghz band . I've my doorbell 2-3weeks but haven't gotten around to restoring my older wifi router with the bands separated. the bottom paragraph in the linked article highlights this but doesn't mention that this includes googles own devices. unless you have an old router and then try to trick the devices using same SSID then safer assume that it won't work until google updates the routers or home app to address the issue.

All, I was able to connect the Nest Doorbell to my Nest Wifi. I just had to use a different wifi network intially to connect to the doorbell through the google home app (on 2.5Ghz but without renaming SSIDs) but once it was connected it actually gave me option to setup the doorbell on the Nest Wifi network by selecting that network and entering the password for it. It did take two attempts to connect but overall once it was much easier than I expected. It would still be much easier if setup allowed connection to the new device via bluetooth to add it to a wifi network or if Google Wifi was smart enough to allow connection via the 2.4Ghz range.
