Nest Wi-Fi and Verizon g3100 router

I have a new Nest Wi-Fi and just got Verizon g3100 router. Will connecting the Nest Wi-Fi to the g3100 lower my gigabit Ethernet speeds of 880 mbps?

No. Both have gigabit Ethernet ports. You don’t need to use the Verizon router at all unless you have TV service as well.  I have my ONT Ethernet plugged directly into  my nest router, that hardwired to the Verizon router which I use basically just for the MoCa. Verizon gave me a moca 4 port hub that I hardwired my desktop with. I turned the DHCP turned off on my Verizon router and set it to a static IP. So nest  manages the network and the Verizon is just there for the hardwire. Two days ago, I hooked up the Verizon extender that comes free with my plan just to try it out. For the past two days, I’ve been using the WiFi on the Verizon, it blows my Nest away in terms of speed and range. I’m totally shocked, I love my 3 Nest routers ( all routers, no AP model). So I’m currently testing it this way where Nest is the main but I use the WiFi from Verizon
