Nest WiFi point mic constantly announces “microphone off” and “microphone on”

My Nest WiFi Point is constantly announcing “microphone is off” then “microphone is on” without me touching the mic switch. I have factory reset several times. Any suggested resolutions? Thank you!

It sounds like the microphone mute switch could be stuck or sticking. Have you tried moving the switch around?

If it seems dirty, try using ordinary household disinfecting wipes or 70% isopropyl alcohol-based wipes to very gently clean the switch whilst moving it back and forth. Don't use wipes that contain bleach.
