Hi,
I have just bought nest wifi and have eir fibre installed and want to get rid of the current modem and just use the nest router. I have tried to plug the nest straight into the fibre box via the Ethernet cable, tried all the various pppoe usernames and passwords I can find on the internet and also dhcp. My understanding is that eir ises vlan tag 10 which is supported by nest wifi now.
Has anyone got this to work?
Thanks

Do you get an internet connection if you connect the ethernet cable from your fiber box straight into a PC?
I'd ask your ISP for guidance on how to use your own router with their internet service. Also about the PPPoE stuff.

VLAN support built in to Nest Wifi is very limited. Here is the official guidance:
It supports some tags, but PPPoE combined with VLAN it does not seem to support at all.
A workaround is to use a managed/ smart switch with VLAN tag support, put it between your ISP equiment and Nest Wifi, and make it untag VLAN before traffic hits Nest Wifi. More info on this:
