Nest Wifi connected to Netgear switch - TV and Playstation will not connect

darrindyson

My Samsung TV and Playstation 5 will not connect to the internet when wired in and going through a Netgear switch.  The switch is unmanaged and this worked with both my old Nest Wifi and Orbi.  This seems to be something that I read elsewhere on the forum and on the internet, but I don't see where this has been solved.  I purchased a brand new switch because I thought the switch had died, however, same behavior.  There is something wrong here and I'm hoping that someone can provide some guidance on this.  These devices cost too much to have to constantly spend time factory resetting them just to get them to do basic networking.

What exact switch? Brand and model. Even though it's unmanaged, and even though it worked with other equipment, it might have conflicting features.

I don't work for Google.

Linksys SE3800V2.  I had the original Nest Wifi and it worked fine.  Had eero WiFI and it worked as well.  Was working fine initially and just stipped at some point.

Hey there folks,

Thanks for the help, @LovelyM.
@darrindyson, my apologies for the late reply. Could you try connecting your Samsung TV or Playstation 5 directly to your Nest Wifi Pro and check if the issue persists? I’d like to isolate the issue further. I’ll wait for your reply.

Regards,
Abi

No I can't connect it directly.   Even if that were to work, that wouldn't be ideal.  It makes no sense that this just stopped working with no changes.   I moved on an bought a different mesh wifi system.   The performance and connecttivity issues just aren't worth continuing with this system.
