Nest Wifi no internet connectivity

Hello,

was there an update or is there an issue with that is known with Nest Wi-Fi? It working fine on the 31st Oct but then  devices wouldn't connect to Wi-Fi around 9pm. I thought it was my modem I tired to reset it and nest Wi-Fi came up with a blinking yellow light, saying no internet connectivity. This morning the problem persist I have tried to factory three times twice by the device itself and through the app. There's a blinking white light but it says there's no internet connection when trying to set up by the app and says that my modem is not giving an internet connection.

My modem seems to be working when plugged directly into it. Is my Nest device dead? What would the problem you think?

I have factory reset my modem as well.

I'm with Virgin Media.

Thanks

I think you have a few things going on here:

  1. Wifi wouldn't connect - I'm not 100% sure what you mean. If you mean it stopped connecting to your network, then that could be any number of reasons. If you mean that it was connected and you were not able to get to the internet, then that is likely the modem or ISP issue.
  2. Modem resets - When you reset the modem any of the times, you cleared any custom settings and restored the modem to the way it was when it came out of the box. When you did it the first time, you wiped the ISP settings that allowed you to connect to their network which is why the Nest Wifi showed no internet. You will need to contact the ISP's Support to get the modem provisioning pushed back out so it will connect to their network again.
  3. Nest Wifi resets - When you reset your Nest Wifi, you wiped all of the settings and reset it to factory default like above. You will have to remove the Nest Wifi devices from the Home app and set everything back up again; use the same name and settings from before. NOTE: Make sure you have your modem reprovisioned before you set the Nest Wifi back up.

There is still the possibility the modem has went out still or is going out. I would work with the ISP to get it reprovisioned. If they cannot get it provisioned, it is likely dead. If they do get it provisioned, they should be able to run tests on it if the device is theirs and replace it if needed. If it is not and the internet issue happens again, then replace the modem and get it provisioned from the ISP.

Hello,

Everything is good. Turns out it was my ISP even though they said there wasn't any problems turns out there was.

So the nest Wi-fi product is fine.

Thanks.
