Hi
I have a google nest wifi that works and my house is also pre-wired for Cat6 connectivity that I'd like to use.
I purchased a simple TP-link TL-SG108 unmanaged switch to connect to the router (hub?) and then patch into the other wall ports.
When I connect the switch to the router LAN connection I get no connectivity. When I connect a laptop directly to that same router LAN port it all works fine.
Is there some configuration that I'm missing on the router to enable an unmanaged switch? I was hoping it would just expand the number of connections possible but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I've also removed all wall patch points from the issue to and just connected directly with my own cables that work so I think they're ruled out as a problem.
Any help appreciated.

If I search for your switch, the TP-link has QoS enabled by default.
This can cause issues, and as it is unmanaged switch you cannot disable this feature. 😶
I would try an unmanaged switch without QoS features.
