Nest router as a point

Can I use a nest router as a point. I.e. not have an Ethernet cable attached? Reason is I already have a router I just need an additional point. Thanks

Yes, it's possible. You can configure your Nest Wifi router as an access point to extend your existing network. To do so, it's first necessary to perform the factory reset on the nest router and then set up on the home app. Here's how to do it:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to add a new device.
  • Select "Nest Wifi router" or similar from the list of devices.
  • The app will guide you through the setup process, which will involve creating a mesh network and configuring the Nest Wifi router as a point.
