Nest wifi offline but working (sort of)

I've been running Nest Wifi in my home for a couple years now and had no issues. Out of nowhere, around Wednesday or Thursday last week, all of the sudden I'm having issues getting Chromecast and Wifi access points to work. Also, google home app shows nest wifi being offline, but I still have internet (mostly). What's stranger is that i can connect to a lot of different sites, EXCEPT for google.com. I've tried forcing DNS , factory resetting devices, etc, but nothing seems to help the situation.

Did something change? What is going on here? My whole house is out of whack now

Hi, Sorry for the answer but this problem looks like to be for everyone who has one google wifi kit, same issue and same answer.

i did every single steps that they ask me for and im still having 5mb from 1gb that i payed every month.

The best advise i did received was to buy a new wifi kit.

Hey folks,

Thanks for lending a hand, @RachelGomez123.

@filthytone and @vhuk87, I’m sorry to hear about your issue.

A quick question: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)?

Give these steps a try:

  • If you're using a modem/router combo, set that to bridge mode to avoid double NAT issues.
  • Make sure that there is minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.) and the points are no more than two rooms apart.
  • Remove any special characters in your network name and password.
  • Turn off IPv6.
  • Change your DNS server into 8.8.8.8 on the primary and 8.8.4.4 on the secondary server. Hit the save/ floppy disk icon on the upper right.
  • Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.
  • If the issue persists, try factory resetting your network.
  • You can skip some of the steps if you’ve done it already.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Abi
