Hi Chris, I am sorry I am unsure of what you mean by your question. Can you provide a few more details?

had purchased a nest wifi router and wifi point some months ago. I have been able to connect the router but the wifi point keeps giving me "this point was manufactured for a different country" I am looking for a way to fix this. Is this possible?

Hey, Chrisb.
Sorry for the issues you're having getting your WiFI points set up. I know it can be quite frustrating when things don't work quite right. Let's sort out the issue so we can get things working for you.
I do have a few questions that might help us out.
If you can give me a little more to go on, I'm sure we can sort out what's happening. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks.

I had purchased Nest wifi and point together from Best buy marketplace.
I have not moved.

Factory reset did not work.
I am in Canada.
This is really frustrating and would like to find a fix.

Ok, Chrisb.
Thanks for the update on your country and purchase. This happened recently with another community member. You can see their thread here: https://bit.ly/3mB8BcG
In their case, buying the points secondhand led to them having points incompatible with Canada and new points bought that were known to be configured for the local market fixed his issue. This can happen when points are bought from Amazon, eBay, or any other marketplaces that allow 3rd party sellers. Is there a way you can review the item listing to see if it mentions country of origin or find out any history of where they may have originated from?

Hey, Chrisb.
I just wanted to follow up real fast to see if anything has changed on your side and to see if you were able to find out anything about the point's country of origin. Let me know if you learned anything and we can move forward with next steps.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for following up. Nothing has changed on my end. Still not able to connect nest access point. I reached out to the vendor but no reply as of yet. I did some research and found out that the vendor is based on Illinois, so I would assume that the point is an American unit. Is there anything that can be done to help me? I really need this access point to give me wifi coverage throughout my home.

Hey, Chrisb.
I don't know what resources there are for that, but let me check with my teams here and see what is possible. I'll update you when I have more answers.
Thanks.

Hi, Chrisb.
It looks like from a support perspective, there's not much we can do when it comes to a product configured for one country being used in another. Your best bet for a resolution on this would be to work with either the seller of the point or the marketplace itself. Possibly if it wasn't disclosed what region it was configured for, you might have an opening to get a refund. All that will depend on their customer service and policies.
As mentioned before, another customer ran into this and resold the point and found one that was set for their local region. That might be the way to go if all fails with their customer support. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks.

Hi, Chris.
Hopefully you were able to work something out with the seller or the marketplace. As we have this answered, I'm going to go ahead and close up the thread. If you have any other questions or need anything else going forward, please feel free to open a new discussion.
Thanks.
