Old to new mesh system

Hello i currently have the the first generation google mesh system and thought about upgrading to the newest. My only issue is that if I go to upgrade to the newest mesh system do I have to reconnect my tech to new system or can I connect the newer mesh system to older one to keep same wifi name and points?

Reusing your network name (SSID) and password will make it so that your devices should reconnect automagically to the new network when it's set up.
