Operation Timed out and couldn't be completed - nest add-on point

I am trying to add a Nest WiFi access points (Model: H2E) to my Google Nest Wifi Router (Model: H2D). I have tried a dozen times to add (resetting, adding back to Wifi network) but I keep getting the "Operation timed out and couldn't be completed" message at the very end. I have read all the threads here and they don't seem to resolve my problem. Here's what I have tried:

- I’ve factory reset the devices every time

- IOS 17.6.1, all apps up to date

- I am 5 feet from the Nest Wifi router

- I’ve tried creating a new room for the device each time as another thread suggested worked, but it does not for me

- It fails, shows up in the WiFi devices list as non functional and then when I press it, it says it’s been factory reset and will be removed.

- I've tried to use other device such as an Ipad (iOS and all apps up to date)

-some suggested to disable IPv6 (not working)

I have just realised my router is from the US and the point that I purchased is from UK - would this be an issue?

Any suggestions or help would be highly appreciated!

Hello, can anyone offer some help? Should this be related to compatibility? Does it mean I will need to give up my old nest router that comes from the US (which has no issue at all until now)..

Hi kelcins,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that it hasn’t been possible to add your Nest WiFi access points (Model: H2E) to your Google Nest WiFi router (Model: H2D). Despite multiple attempts, you're still receiving the message "Operation timed out and couldn't be completed." We appreciate you sharing the troubleshooting steps you've tried, along with the details about your devices and home environment. This information will help me assist you more effectively.

Regarding your inquiry, please note that Google WiFi is designed for use in the country where it's purchased. Wireless regulations vary by country, so moving your device(s) to a different country may cause compatibility issues and limit our ability to offer support. You can find more information in this article: Set up Google WiFi.

I hope this information is useful for you, and if you need further assistance with your Google Nest products, please feel free to contact us whenever you need it.

Best regards,

Virna.
