Problem Mesh Nest Wifi Router with 1 Access Point

AlbertKircher
Community Member

My problem is similar to that reported in another discussion (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Some-websites-apps-don-t-load-when-connected-to-goo...😞

The first hint of a problem was that some pages and apps work (youtube, google search), while others do not work (like cnn.com, etc). The Mesh-test in the Google Home app is successful. After trying different things I found that when I switched off the access point located in another room then the WiFi works without problems for a while, when I turn on the access point then the WiFi starts to have the same problems soon again, and often I cannot even access the router via Google Home. The problem worsened and many times I cannot have a Wifi connection via the main Nest router (without active access point), after restarting only the router the Wifi usually works for some minutes, but then the problems reappear (first only some apps and pages being able to get internet, then no internet at all).

More info: Model H2D, firmware version: 14150.376.32, no family Wifi or Guest Wifi, no WPA3, IPv6 disabled. Tried with DNS setting automatic and DNS from the provider. I restarted all possible parts in the network. Problem starts yesterday, never had it before.

Hope someone can help me, thanks in advance!

Try to factory reset the Nest Wifi point, not the main unit, then add it again? Since it acts up when connected, I'd just factory reset it using the physical button, then delete it from the Google Home app.

I don't work for Google.

Hi! I did reset the Google Nest Router, at the moment everything works. Let's hope is continues working well. I will give you an additional feedback in a couple of days! Thanks for the suggestion!
