Hi.
I would like to replace my Google Nest Wifi router with a 3rd party router (Asus, Netgear etc), but would like to keep all my settings and smart devices that I have in my Google Home app.
Is that possible? And can all non-Google routers be used in Google Home or do I need to look for something specific when choosing the new router?

Hi @TRHANSEN
You can use your Google Home and all connected device with any Wifi router.
But you cannot manage the router from the Google Home app.

Hello @TRHANSEN
Just to add to @RXShorty 's answer, to do this, take note of the exact network name and password your current Nest WiFi network is set up with before shutting it down. Then, when setting up the new network, use the same network name and password. That way, all of your existing WiFi client devices should connect to the new network without having to be reconfigured. You will manage that WiFi network using the app or web page provided by new equipment's manufacturer.

Hello @TRHANSEN
Yes, all of the devices currently in the Google Home app will stay there (except for the Nest WiFi system itself, including any Nest WiFi Point units that are smart speakers). They are just connected to each other via whatever WiFi network you have and to the internet through that network.
