I purchased a Google Wi-Fi system a few years ago and it’s been working fine up until recently. I factory reset the system because my entire Wi-Fi system went down and I couldn’t get it working after trying routine things. So, I factory reset the Google Wifi system. Turns out it was a problem with the Comcast Xfinity Gateway which was the Issue. Well, now that the Comcast Xfinity Wi-Fi is working again, I cannot connect my Google Wifi initial/primary router or point to reestablish a new Google network. Here’s what happens. I get to the point where it says to “Connect the provided ethernet cable into your nest Wi-Fi routers WAN port”. After that it says “Connecting to Wi-Fi….. this could take a few seconds” then it says “Connected”…immediately after that it says “Couldn’t connect”. Please advise as I’m assuming it’s something with the ISP.

Hi @Moe4dc,
Thanks for reaching out to the Nest Community and for detailing all the steps you've already taken to get your Google Wifi back online. It's definitely a bit of a setback after resolving the Comcast issue to now face this during setup. Let's focus on getting your Google Wifi system connected again.
I appreciate you mentioning that you've already done a factory reset through the Google Home app. To ensure we've covered all bases, I'd like to recommend performing a manual factory reset on each of your Google Wifi devices, especially the primary router. This can sometimes clear any lingering configurations or glitches that the app-based reset might not fully address.
To do this correctly, please head over to our Help Center and find the specific instructions for your Google Wifi model in this article: Factory reset your Wi-Fi device.
Once you've completed the manual factory reset on all your Google Wifi devices and restarted your Comcast Xfinity Gateway, please try the setup process again in the Google Home app.
Keep me updated on how it goes, and I'll be here to help you with the next steps if needed.
Regards,
Kevin
