Setting up Google wifi a second time

KevinBrandner

My house was struck by lightening and it fried the Google wifi point being used as the main point/router. I tried to move another of the points to the main point but I can't get Google Home app the find the Google WiFi to set it up. Is there anything I can do to get this to work?

To replace the main puck, you must delete the current network from your Google Home home, make sure all pucks are factory reset and ready for setup/ adoption.

Then set up the network from scratch. Reuse your network name (SSID) and password, then your devices should reconnect automagically.

I don't work for Google.

Hey there,

Thanks for the help and links, olavrb.

KevinBrandner, were you able to factory reset your previous network and set up a new one using your other Google Wifi point?

Let us know if you have additional concerns ― we’d love to help.

Best,

Mel
