Some devices can connect while some devices keep disconnected

I recently facing a problem that sometimes my devices lost the wifi connection while at the same time, other devices is still connecting.

It happen randomly to different devices, it could a my phone this time, then my TV next time, etc. When i try to connect again, it will try and then become disconnected again.

I  have to restart network of  the nest wifi rotuer multiple times, then all devices can connect again without changing any settings or restart.

Anyone faced the same problem and know how to fix it?

Hi, ssray73.

Sorry about the issues you're having with connectivity on your network. That sounds like a really frustrating problem. Let's take a closer look at things and figure out what is happening here. I have a few questions that might help us sort it out.

  • Do devices ever connect on their own after a disconnect, or do you always need to restart the network?
  • Is your modem from your ISP a wireless modem as well?
  • Does your network go offline as well, or are devices dropping while the network stays online?
  • How many WiFi points are you using, and when you run a mesh test, what is their connection strength?

I'm sure we can figure out what's happening here. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

  • The devices cannot connect automatically again. I have to restart the network.
  • My ISP modem is not wireless.
  • My network seem do not go offline, since sometimes, 1 or 2 devices can still connect to the Internet while the other devices failed to connect to the network.
  • I only use 1 Nest Wifi router and at most there are 6-8 devices connect at once.  The speed test at Home app seems good, with over 800Mbps upload and download speed .

I search other community and find out that others tried to disable Video conferencing in the Preferred activities, that seems working for me so far.

Hey, ssray73.
As an update for you, I wanted to let you know that we have a firmware update coming out now. Some people may have already received the update, but most will see it coming still. Everyone will have it before the end of April. If you receive that update and don't see an improvement in your issues here, please let me know and we can keep looking into things.
Thanks.

Hey, ssray73.
Just as a quick addition to the last update, the firmware version for both Google WiFi and Nest WiFi will be 14150.43.80. If you are seeing a different version number when you check in Google Home, you have yet to receive the updated firmware. Let me know if you have any questions about that.
Thanks.

Hi, ssray73.

I know we have been waiting on that update, but it's been a while since we've checked in. I wanted to see if you got that firmware release and to see if it improved anything on your end. If you're still waiting for the firmware, it should arrive real soon. Let me know if you have seen any changes on your network.

Thanks.
