Sonos connecting to a nest wifi point further away

I have a 2 level house. Bedrooms on level 1. Living room on level 2.

Each room has a google nest wifi point. All with Strong connection.

In my bedroom, I have a Sonos One and a Google nest wifi point.

However, the Sonos one is always connecting to the Google nest wifi point upstairs, in the living room.

As a result, the Sonos One has a 'poor' connection. which effect it b

If I turn off the living room nest wifi, the sonos One will then connect to the bedroom wifi. And gets strong connection.

Is there a way for me to stop the Sonos one in the bedroom from using the wrong wifi point?

Thanks in advance.

Hello @gw2

WiFi devices (like your Sonos) decide which access point to connect to. Some do a better job of this than others. Mobile devices may listen to the 802.11k and 802.11v information Nest WiFi provides to make better decisions, but not all mobile devices support those standards, and I doubt Sonos does (since they aren't "mobile"). All of that said, it sounds like your Sonos re-connects to the living room Nest WiFi Point when you power it back on, which means the Sonos is likely to be periodically measuring signal quality and making the switch. So, the question is, why does it see a better signal quality from the more distant Nest WiFi Point? It could be some nearby source of interference (either in the living room – like a wireless subwoofer or surround sound system, or in your bedroom). Another possibility is that it could be too close to the bedroom Nest WiFi Point. If it's closer than about 3 feet, it could be getting overpowered and choosing the more distant point to connect to. If that's the case, just move them a bit further apart and see if it starts making a better choice.
