Speed Test and Point Setup Failing

Anonymous
Not applicable

My issue is the same as the one found here: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Speed-Test-and-setting-up-Nest-Points-in-Google-Hom...

TLDR: My google home app fails any speed test. However I am getting an SSID and 3rd party speed tests work fine. My google point fails to connect

Some things to add:

1. It randomly went out about a week ago after working fine for just over a year. I called my ISP and they said everything was fine on their end and nothing had changed

2. I was on google text support for over three hours and reset everything several times

3. I bought a new Google nest router, thinking it might be a hardware issue

4. I tried the suggestions of "@Jeff" from the forum link to the letter

5. My router is plugged directly into the modem but I tried suggestion #3 from "@Garett DS"

6. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have used a different phone to try doing the install. I even tried using a different google account for setup

None of those worked

If anyone has a potential solution, I would be quite grateful

Thank you for the reply. It turns out that it was an ISP issue all along. My wife called them again and they said that they had some issues elsewhere, somewhat similar to mine, but did not think I was in the affected area. They messed with some stuff on their end and now everything is working again. My wife isn't the most technically minded person so she wasn't sure what exactly they said the issue was or else I would share it.

Where do you live (country)?

What region are the Google/ Nest Wifi points you own made for?

  • Same as your country?
  • All of them?
  • Where did you buy them?

I'll escalate the issue, as I don't think it's an easy thing to solve without working at Google, being able to see logs, knowing what backend is used etc.

I don't work for Google.
