Hi all,
I am new to this community. I am incredibly frustrated by the Nest Pro - I just can't figure how how to fix the terribly slow speed I get while conected to my Mesh network. My office at home is right next to where I have the main wifi point connected to my router, and I have another point here in my office.
When I am standing in front of the router I get a wireless speed on tests on my phone of 400MB - when I go into the office, it gows down to sometimes less than 5MB - I have rebooted the network, I moved the wifi point until the test said that connection was great and still, here in my office both my computer and cellphone and my wife's computer get an incredibly slow speed - from 400MB in the family room (where the main point is) all the way down to less than 5MB.
It is incredibly frustrating and I have no idea what to do - I have rebooted my ISP router, rebooted the network from the home app and nothing is working - any idea what to do? how to fix this?

Return it. Immediately! Its not fit for purpose.
You won't get a helpful reply from Google here either.

I am sad to report that I have began to consider this as an option.

Hi there juanjofloa,
Thanks for reaching out to our community.
It's completely understandable why you're feeling frustrated. Don't worry, though. Let's figure out what's causing these slow internet speeds on your Nest Wifi Pro.
Did you always experience this slow internet speed on that specific Wi-Fi point? My first guess would be that there might be some interference at play here. So, I suggest trying to wire your point with a CAT6 cable to see if that makes any difference.
Try setting up your office point as the main router and switching them around to see if it's specifically the point that's causing the slow internet speed.
After trying both these tests, I suggest monitoring your Wi-Fi speeds for around 24 hours to check how the points behave.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.

Thank you for your reply - just to make sure I understand:
Is the suggestion to change my Office point as my main point and bring the main point to the Office? And see how that works?
Thank you

Hi there juanjofloa,
Thanks for your response.
That's right! By switching the Wi-Fi units from place, we can rule out any interference that might be causing your Wi-Fi to have slower speeds in your office. If you switch them and you start to have slower speeds on the spot where the main original point was, then we might have to dig a little bit deeper and get a closer look at your Nest Pro Units.
Let me know what you find out.

Angel.

Hi aperezdeleon,
I did the change, I have 3 units and I changed them. After the change, for a couple of days I was getting 140-150MB in my office (I have 350MB) and that was good enough for me, but after the weekend, I find out that it is now performing terribly again, at some point this morning I was getting 1.1 MB for download.
And I just noticed when restarting the network, the Nest Pro unit in my office was still connecting, I did a test and got 38MB - now the unit has connected, and I am doing a 1.07MB! - the unit conecting to the mesh is actually making it even worse!!! And this is a unit that I had changed - the other areas in my home have a better performance, but it is less than 6 FT away.
I have been looking at what could be causing this issue:
1. I have a Google Wifi setup at home as well, Internet in Mexico is not very reliable, so I have two ISPs since I rely a lot on internet for my work - could it be that the Google WiFi mesh interferes with the Nest Pro Wifi? Hopefully the answer is NO, as that would be terrible product development.
2. The only device in between my my family room (where the main router is) and my Office is a Ring Chime Pro (this is also working as a network extender).
Any ideas??? I am desperate to see how 6 feet apart I have more than 360MB and 1.07!!!
Thank you for your help,

I also have to mention that I did a Factory Reset in the process of changing the location of the points. As I said, it all worked well during the weekend. Until today.

More info to consider...
Google WiFi does not have that problem.
My ISP Router does not have that problem. (low signal, and speed is not great, but is better than the Nest Pro)
I tried disconecting the ring for 30 mins, restarted the network and it did not improve.
I disconected the Google WiFi unit in my office, to rule out interference from there... also did not improve... this is ridiculous.

After running all the above tests, now my iMac says that the network has no internet and my last speed test result on my phone was a wooping 0.57MB download speed...

The latest test...

Same network, just outside the office...

Hi JuanjoFloa,
I appreciate your efforts in testing your router to help me determine what is happening.
There's a chance that your Google Wifi router might interfere with your Nest Pro's Wi-Fi signal. Since they're two separate networks, the placement of the points could cause signal interruption and, consequently, lead to poor internet speeds.
If you've tested running your Nest Wifi Pro without both your Google Wifi and your ISP's router, and you're still getting the same speed results, I suggest contacting your Nest Wifi Pro's ISP to make sure everything is running smoothly on their end. Additionally, please fill out this form, and a member of my team will reach out to you via email to perform a series of tests on your network to identify what's specifically causing this behavior in your router.
Let me know once you've filled out the form, I'll keep an eye out for your response.
Regards,
Angel.
