UPnP issue Google WiFi

ChasL
Community Member

Hey there I recently set up a Google WiFi Mesh home system and have the base router accepting the signal from my cable provider. In the <..> port I have a D-link Systems 5 Port Gigabit Unmanaged Switch (Part# DGS-1005G)

this manages the connections to my Xbox, PS5 and Diskstation 411j. I am currently not able to see the Diskstation UPnP on my computer, or iPhone (VLC) specifically. I’ve lowered the firewalls on all the devices and marked the devices as “safe” by my Eset virus protection. No help.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Hey ChasL,

Thanks for posting ― let's see what's going on.

To confirm, have you already checked if UPnP is enabled in your Google Wifi network? If not, try the steps below:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Wi-Fi > Settings > Advanced Networking.
  • Turn UPnP on or off. Toggle it off and on again if it’s already on
  • Restart your network using your Google Home app (tap Wi-Fi > Settings > Restart network) and check if the issue persists.

You can also check this article for more details. Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Abi
