As the title states, I am unable to add any new rules for UDP or TCP/UDP under port forwarding. I am able to add just TCP, but the port I need to forward is UDP and I get a "Failed to add new rule. Please check your input and try again" error.
I've run into this issue in the past and have somehow managed to add a previous UDP rule for a different device but am completely unable to now.
The device (Windows 11 PC) is set to a static IP, I have tried restarting the network. and I have tried toggling IPv6 on and off while entering the rules, as suggested in other posts. Nothing seems to help.
Any thoughts on what could potentially solve this?

Hello BlixQuoy,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for this experience.
A few questions: what are the port numbers that you are trying to use? Were there any recent power or internet outages in your area? Is there a switch on your network? Are you using a modem-router combo?
Please uninstall and reinstall your Google Home app before creating a new port forwarding rule. Check your Windows computer since you may also need to open the ports in the Windows Firewall or Windows Defender.
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Lovely

Hi Lovely,
The ports I'm trying to use are 2302 and 27016 for a game server. Not power outages recently in our area.
The Nest WiFi is connected directly to a modem only, no combo router and there is a switch. I attempted to unplug the switch and it didn't help.
I have the ports open in Windows and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app in my phone, as while as try the app on 3 other devices.

Hey BlixQuoy,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Please use the same port numbers when setting up a new port forwarding rule and let me know if that resolves your issue.
Thanks,
Lovely

Hi Lovely, no worries. I did end up resolving the issue earlier. It turns out there was some user error and some previous improperly set rules were conflicting with the new rules I was trying to set.

Hi BlixQuoy,
That's great to know. Thanks for the update. I'm glad you were able to create new port forwarding rules already. If you have other questions or concerns, feel free to create a new post.
Cheers,
Lovely
