I've had my nest wifi for a couple of years and have been attempting to get complete coverage for my house ever since i acquired it. At present, I have two router units in service. I'm presently using them in a wireless mesh and they work okay to cover most of the house. I have been unsuccessful getting the secondary unit to use the wired ethernet connection it has available. I've attempted to add various combinations of other wired and wireless nest wifi access points with no success in improving performance near the dead zone away from these two points (in fact adding additional points has typically caused worse performance).
I'm interested in trying to solve my issues by making the wired connections work now. In doing some research I've noted that disabling STP in my managed switches could be a possibility for getting the wired points to work. I'd prefer not to go that route unless absolutely necessary, so instead I'm trying to modify the STP bridge priority settings across my network. I can't find a way to adjust the bridge priority on the nest wifi router itself nor see what the priority is for this device. If anyone can tell me what the bridge priority is for this device that would be great so that i can try lowering the priority for the switches around it as was suggested in another thread. For additional context, the present bridge priorities in my network are at 4096 for the main switch and 8192 for the secondary switches. I also have a picture of my network architecture mapped out if that will help, i just don't see anyway to upload it here.
