Using an unmanaged switch with my Google mesh.

I have been struggling to get Ethernet to work on my Mac. I have good WI-FI thanks to my Google mesh set up, but it seems like having it connect to Ethernet would be a good thing. I have an Arris cable modem with Ethernet running to one port on my base mesh router. I have a couple of other mesh routers connecting wirelessly, but the most distant one is hardwired to the base. I have been told that you get Ethernet to work on my Mac, that I need an unmanaged switch connected after the mesh base. I can try that, but before buying one, I am trying to determine if that will allow me to also connect my hardwired mesh point to that switch as well.

Yes you can connect a switch to the base nest unit , your network layout should be modem to base nest to switch to second wired nest

Here's a diagram that shows how to wire it all up:

Here are some related guides on adding a switch and wired backhaul. Make sure to read what they say about the requirements for the switch:

I don't work for Google.

Awesome. I very much appreciate the diagram. Thanks for your help.
