What does "Device Usage" actually show (in Google Home app)?

I am trying to get a feel for how much data each device on my network are using each month.  In the Google Home app, there's an option under WiFi -> Devices for displaying "Usage month" and this shows the upstream and downstream usage per device...but is this just showing the result of generic network activity per device on the Google Mesh?  Or is this specifically showing each device's Internet usage over this period?

If it isn't indicating Internet usage, is there a way to obtain this from within the app?  I know that I can see the mesh's overall Internet data usage from Network -> Internet Speed (for the past day, 7 days, or 30 days)

Is there a way to obtain Internet usage beyond the last month?  If not via the app, is there a place I can go online to access this info?

My ISP provides daily up and down data.  Check with your ISP, may provide the same summary data on line.

The ISP only shows my overall daily usage for the past month and total usage for the past four months.  I am looking for a breakdown of the Internet usage per device per month, preferably with separate totals for upstream and down.

Hi folks,

@myidaho, thanks for the help!

@akira3d, the Speed tab on the Google Home app shows Real time usage — how much data it has downloaded and uploaded from, and to the internet.

Thanks,

Edward

I know that, but what I'm asking above is whether or not the total usage per device displayed on the app refers to general network activity or Internet usage.

Hi akira3d,

I'm sorry for the confusion. The data usage is supposed to show the total usage of each device that is connected to your Google Wifi.

Thanks,

Edward
