I'm wondering if there is any updated timeline for the 6e power boost as per this Google article from over a year ago.

Hi bpcs,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you'd like to get an update for the "6E power boost" feature mentioned in our article about the Nest Wifi Pro router. I'll be glad to help you with the information you need!

The Nest Wifi Pro router already supports Wi-Fi 6E, using the Wi-Fi 6 standard and the 6 GHz band for its connections. This represents a next-generation improvement in Wi-Fi and one of the biggest advancements in more than a decade.

Please check out our helpful article to learn more about it: Benefits of Wi-Fi 6E with Nest Wifi Pro

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to post them on this forum.

Best regards,
Juan

This is not useful... please read Google's own article I provided the link for... I will quote the following excerpt from that article...

"Coming soon: With the Wi-Fi 6E speed boost feature, Nest Wifi Pro will be able to use higher power Wi-Fi 6E, where permitted. Here are additional benefits you get with higher power Wi-Fi 6E:"

When the Nest Pro was released, it had 2.4ghz, 5ghz and 6ghz (6e). The  6ghz 6e was launched in a lower power mode awaiting regulatory bodies approving a higher power 6e.

Google stated that it would be launching the increased power version of 6e "soon"... I was asking if someone knows when this is happening... could you escalate and see if you can answer this.

TIA

Here is a a.portion of what a previous Google person explained in answer to this question about 18 months ago...

"I wish I knew when the higher transmit power feature will be available for the 6GHz band on the Nest WiFi Pro. So, I can't answer that question. But, I did want to comment briefly on the other questions. The new feature will apply only to the 6GHz band. The 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands will operate as they have been. However, since the mesh interconnect runs on the 6GHz band, any 2.4GHz or 5GHz client traffic through a Nest WiFi Pro secondary that then gets retransmitted via the 6GHz mesh connection will potentially run a bit faster for a given distance between that secondary and the primary than it does today. Other than that, I suppose a few more 6GHz-capable clients will be able to hold connections in that band at greater distances without falling back to 5GHz, which could preserve a bit more capacity in the 5GHz band. That's unlikely to be a significant impact, though.

As for how the user will know, it may be hard to tell, frankly. If you get a feel for what parts of your home you can manage to maintain a 6GHz connection today (at the lower transmit power), and what parts of your home fall back to 5GHz, you may check again after the new feature is released and see the 6GHz coverage area grow. You may also run a mesh quality test in the Google Home app, and then take a look at the mesh speed each Nest WiFi Pro secondary unit manages to get back to the primary (finding that number is a little tricky, though) – I expect that number to go up, which could be seen in client-based end-to-end internet speed tests."

There is "higher transmit power" version coming "soon" , via software / firmware update, of the original 6e 6ghz that Nest Pro originally shipped with... pending FCC regulatory approval... when, if ever, that higher power is coming, is the question.

Thank you.
