Which satellite is my device connected to?

DonAwalt

I have the Nest Google Nest Wifi router, and 3 satellites. Is there a way that at any given time I can see which of the 4 devices my iPad, say, is connected to? I suspect the devices are not always so good at switching the iPad to say the router, as I have times when I walk a ways in the house, and even 30 minutes later I pick up my iPad to use and the WiFi is unusable - turn Wifi off, the cell is great - turn the WiFi back on, and it's fine - it's like I have to turn off and on the WiFi to get it working on my iPad.

So how can I tell what device my iPad is connected to?

Thanks for checking in @Jeff, no, it still is the same. Very poor performance yet I am 10 feet and visual sight of the router. I am surprised they have not asked for more information from me, or logs, or anything to test...I wonder how they could be working on it?

Hi, DonAwalt.

So the issue you're seeing is actually happening with others as well, so the issue as a whole is being looked at. At the start of the new week, I'll touch base with support and see if they can look specifically at your situation once more and re-engage to secure those logs or if there's anything they can have you test.

Thanks.

Thanks @Jeff, that's good to know if they see it with others! If they have what they need that's great, no need to ping me unless they need something - maybe they got all they need from others! Thanks for checking on a status next week.

@Jeff, any news on updates? Also, is this article the same issue? You mentioned others were having a similar problem...

Hi, DonAwalt.

The issue is still being tracked and looked at internally. I still don't have an answer as far as an expected timeline for a fix, but yes, it's still being addressed. Hopefully we can find out more soon.

Thanks.

Thanks @Jeff, is it the same family of issues as the link I sent you?

Hi @Jeff , it has been since early October with no updates. Unless you can give me any expectation that these problems can be fixed, I am moving to an Orbi Netgear mesh system- they have excellent reviews. Is there anything you can provide as to an expectation for a solution, or is this the best Google can do?

Hi @Jeff don't you think that's inexcusable that you went dark without even a reply? Just letting you know, I moved to an Orbi mesh system about 3 weeks ago, it's been great - faster, better UI for seeing how things are working, and 100% reliable in switching between satellite and router. Now my iPad, when 10 feet from the router, gets about 600 Mbps download speed! You should be ashamed of the support service - never again with Google products for me. Good luck.

Hey, DonAwalt.

Sorry for the ghosting on the thread. It wasn't intentional and things got pushed deep down the queue. I know that you said you have already moved onto another product, and I'm sorry that we couldn't get this sorted out for you here. For your information, there is a firmware update rolling out for the WiFi products now and it will aim to correct a variety of bugs and issues. I don't know if you're interested in giving that another look or not, but it might clear things up for you. If you're willing to pick up troubleshooting again, I would be happy to jump back in and help.

Thanks.

@Jeff thanks for the reply. Yes I have moved on, but hopefully this will help others with similar problems. Thanks again for getting back to me.

Hopefully everything works out well for you on the new solution, DonAwalt. I'll go ahead and close up the thread, but definitely feel free to open up a new discussion if you ever want to revisit this or have questions about anything else.

Thanks.
