WiFi point won’t power on

Just installed the Google WiFi - bought at Costco….after everything was up and running successfully….one point stopped working and would not power on.  Question - can one be replaced?  Or do I have to take the whole system back to Costco? Thank you!!

Hi ShelleyB,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that one of your Google Wifi points is not powering on. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • Does it appear offline in the Google Home app?
  • Have you checked if the power cable is connected properly?
  • Have you tried plugging it to a different power outlet?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

I’ve experienced the same issue with 1 of my Nest Points.  I’ve even tried plugging it into the power cable from a working Point, but it doesn’t power on.  It appeared as Offline in Google Home.

Hi there Jry,

Thanks for letting us know. Could you also check if the Wifi point is broadcasting its temporary setup network?

Thanks,

Edward

EdwardT, can you tell me how I can tell if it's broadcasting its temporary setup network?

Hi Jry,

Thanks for the response. You could tap on your phone's Wifi option and check if your phone can detect the setup network of your Google Wifi point.

Thanks,

Edward

I'm having the same issue where it looks as though one of my wifi points has stopped working and won't power on at all. I've tried plugging it into a different outlet with one of the other wifi point's power cable and still nothing.

@EdwardT I'm still unsure how you check for the temporary setup network. When I go to my wifi settings on my phone I don't see any networks that look like they are temporary for the Google Mesh. I assume I'd see at least 2 of them since I have 3 wifi points.

It will not power on at all….have tried various outlets that will power other charging devices.  The WiFi is up and working on all the other points.
