Wifi points wont connect

Moved. Setting up wifi & points in New house. Modem good. Nest Router good (had to full reset). Wifi points are seen by router (after reset all 3 by holding button on device). Google home app won't read qr code off router or any of 3 wifi points (did read router qr when setup today). Can't type in setup code because won't acknowledge when I type #s. Also, app asking for 9 digit setup code & my router shows an 8 digit (utilizing #s). Please help! Thx

Morning to all. I called Google Home Support and they helped me out. For any folks having similar issue. The problem was the Google Home App on my phone. We needed to uninstall and reinstall the latest version of the google home app. Then the home app was able to read the QR codes as expected. Connection then became standard. Problem solved. Thx.

What colour is the light on your Wifi points? Make sure the light is slowly pulsing white before trying setup.

If the app doesn't detect the points automatically, when the app asks you what device you're trying to setup, be sure to scroll to the bottom and select Wi-Fi. Some tips to help with scanning the QR code:

I have had similar issues. No help so far and no luck figuring it out on my own. Thanks Google.

@Jmluci, thanks for posting. I'm glad that uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app helped you get your Google Nest Wifi points added to your mesh network. Let me know if you have additional questions or concerns.

@pig_in_a_poke, please try the suggestions given by davidking and Jmluci. Inform me if your issue persists.

Best,
Lovely

I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. My original point does not have a qr code. When prompted to input the "setup code" the app informs me the code is incorrect.

I have a Nest wifi with the point the router arrived with and one additional add on point added later. I decided to reset the whole network and devices to start again as the new point was not connecting well. Upon reset and reinstall the add on point connected fine, but the original point will not connect. 1. the QR is long gone and the app states the setup code on the device is incorrect. Upon entering the code on the router... the nest wifi point will connect but then "could not communicate with your nest wifi point". What am I missing in the setup? Or what is wrong with the device?

So very STRANGE, it seems that a few too many different households that are using 2 - Google Wi-Fi nest pros are experiencing the same issues related to connectivity issues??? Why is this, when im certain there have not been any “announcements whatsoever “ related to this discussion/issue? We are all on separate household Wi-Fi connections, because I know I don’t know anyone that has similar concerns! Not to mention, I am a very new customer as of 1- week. I switched from Century Link fiber of 3 months with 0 connectivity issues whatsoever, nor did I ever feel this impending doom rising up rapidly within the last 24 hours as I am currently experiencing with Google; this being my MAIN CONCERN AS OF RIGHT NOW (after skimming through the past few months customer concerns/comments) the thing that has provoked me to be invested in this conversation to begin with- after having to reset my entire network connections last night/early this morning, I soon learned I had a ton of new connections using “ an anonymous “ or generic  network device name (6) different NEW UNKNOWN CONNECTIONS. All of which showed up directly after I reset my entire network of 2- nest pro router’s!???!!??
What in the actual crap is happening inside of my once very secure network prior to switching to Google?? Now I’m growing sick inside upon learning these things about this company!? Why does it feel like last year and beyond into the beginning of Google and ALL of their  un-encrypted/uncensored/better than easy to hack but down right unsettling unsecured network/browsers/devices especially android software period??

I don’t know about anyone else on this conversation piece tonight, but I’m just not willing to become instantly hacked and reintroduced to my accounts being high jacked again after switching to iPhone and apple products over one year ago now… (BTW NOT 1 complaint from me or anyone I invited to try Apple products) to feeling fearful of what’s happening and who’s got what about me, all over again!  NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE AND STRESS!!!!

Gosh am I thankful for Apple even more now for creating something so safe, so secure while now feeling perplexed as to wtf Google/Android/Windows can’t be just as safe and just as secure?? Does Apple have neonatal scientists that are able to cure the disease that NOBODY ELSE CAN?? LMAO!?  For real though…. We all need answers as to why we aren’t capable of knowing when we go to bed each night that we are safe and secure with Google products period!??? I’m just upset that I trusted this company again because of their over advertisements that get a vast majority of people currently that they are targeting on purpose by way of their huge price difference as other leading Wi-Fi Fiber companies? Sorry for the rant, but this crap has to change its the year of 2023! GOOGLE GET YOUR **bleep** TOGETHER NOW OR WERE DONE FOR GOOD!

Scanning the QR code I get an error message stating that it is wrong for this device. How is that possible?

When entering the Setup Code on the device the app tells me it is the wrong code. What is going on here?

Hello everyone,

It seems like a similar thread about this concern was already created, so I'll merge this with that post so we can communicate effectively. You can follow the main thread for updates here.
