Hate to be the bearer of bad news but this issue has been ongoing for well over a year. See the thread below.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with the speed of your Google Wifi. Just to isolate the issue, could you try doing a speed test on the Google Home app? Also, please try to do a mesh test to check if your Google Wifi points have good connection.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi folks,

It's me again. I wanted to check back in to see if you have other questions and concerns. Feel free to let me know if you do.

Thanks,

Edward

No Sir,

still same problem, even a network engineer cant figure it out, seems many folks have this same issue.

might have to return all the stuff as i cant get the speed i should

the issue is the same paying for 1GB service, measured at 1250-1400MBS at the incoming modem, the nest shows 740-850 mbs, yet any of the 3 pucks wont generate more than 120-250 even within 6 inches of the puck, or the nest router.

Hi everyone,

@EdwardT, thanks for the helpful responses.

@Waverlyhills, thanks for getting back to us, and for the added details.

Give these steps a try:

  1. Make sure that there is minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.) and the points are no more than two rooms apart.
  2. Remove any special characters in your network name and password.
  3. Set a custom DNS at 8.8.8.8 on the primary and 8.8.4.4 on the secondary server. Hit the save/ floppy disk icon on the upper right.
  4. Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.
  5. If the issue persists, try factory resetting your network.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Mel

Thank you but no nothing is working, i am almost ready to return all the stuff. its absurd, i have 1.2 gig incoming and with the comcast equip, i was getting 450-850, but had dead spots or zones, with the nest i have 85-150 and no dead zones, but such a huge loss even on top of the pucks is not acceptable, i see this is a huge probelm with the next system from many buyers who wind up returning the sets.

please can you provide a solution, i expect to get at least 650 mb

thank you
