Yellow flashing light on Nest Wi-Fi Pro (Internet working fine)

Wyv

Hi. I have a flashing yellow light on each of my 3 Google Nest Wifi pro units.

The network is working fine. Speeds are good and the mesh is solid. No issues with internet.

The yellow lights are driving me nuts though, especially the one in the bedroom. I’ve had to put a piece of tape over the lights which isn’t something I want to do on a setup I’ve spent hundreds on.

I have had this setup for about 3 months and it’s been working perfectly until this issue occurred couple of weeks ago.

I tried restarting devices several times, both manually and via the app. I also tried a full factory reset and restore.

At this point I consider this to be a defective product. I have tried this forum. I have submitted feedback through the app. Nothing but silence.

How do I go about initiating a warranty refund? I am done waiting for a fix, google does not seem to care.

Thanks for this thread.  I installed Nest Pro two days ago (7/18/24) and am having the same issue.  Did all the suggested fixes and continue to get the slow flashing yellow light.  Mesh network is working properly. So, Google if you are monitoring this issue, it isn't fixed yet.  Lose faith in the error message if they don't mean anything.

Brand new set of three Nest Pro units same issue they all downloaded would assume latest firmware update however flashing yellow remains ever constant.

Seems like this is a well known issue however no firmware fix yet?

It's August and I just got this problem. Yellow light blinking, Internet just fine. How do I update my routers when the fix comes? Is it automatic or do I use the Google Home app?

CORRECTION: I meant and should have said INDIVIDUALLY, not privately

Unfortunately, I don't believe there will be a fix for this problem. It seems to be a factory defect product line, and Google/Nest has INDIVIDUALLY sort of acknowledged that.

The issue now is that my three Nest WiFi Pro-6E Mesh Routers are defective. Thus far, they indicated they are prepared to replace just one unit, not all three. I'm still waiting for their decision to replace all my units since the blinking yellow light is affecting all three.

At this stage, it doesn't seem that Google/Nest is prepared to carry out a product recall, which is unfortunate because, in my view, this would be the proper way to address this matter.

I've been a faithful Google/Nest customer. I have almost all their products in my household, including the navigation system in my car (2023 Volvo XC 60), which, by the way, works beautifully—it's one of the reasons I bought the car. Hence, now I've become skeptical about their product line and the way they're treating their customer base. I do hope Google/Nest comes to its senses and addresses this issue correctly to keep its customers happy and respected.

Thank you for that and I appreciate the response. I will keep pushing for an "official" response on this one, and hopefully they can either issue a recall or speed up the returns process (and allow us to return all 3 units).

I am experiencing issues with my three Nest WIFI Pro-6E Mesh Routers. I have been in touch with Google/Nest support, who acknowledged that there might be a hardware problem with the devices. They have approved the replacement of one unit, but I am still waiting for a decision on whether they will replace all three, as they are all affected by a blinking yellow light.

It seems that Google/Nest is not considering a product recall now, which I find disappointing. A product recall would be an appropriate step to address this matter.

As a loyal customer who uses many Google/Nest products, including the navigation system in my 2023 Volvo, I now have concerns about the quality of their product line and customer support. I hope Google/Nest will take the necessary steps to resolve this issue and prioritize customer satisfaction and respect.

I am having the same issue. It went away after a full reset, but it returned shortly afterward! 😞

We cannot even help diagnose since there is no way to access the logs.

This is impacting my ability to work from home.

Let me know if there is anything we can do to help the developers.

Quick update:

It looks like the issue is fixed (at least for now). It must have been a patch/update that was pushed to the device.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Woke up this morning and all routers were no longer displaying the flashing yellow lights. Hopefully the network is more stable and the issue is fully resolved

Firmware: 3.73.424613

Same here! Looks good to me right now!!!

This is interesting!! I've just checked my version, which reads Software version 3.73.406133.  I haven't yet received this new one.

Even more interesting is that Google/Nest has agreed to replace all three of my units because they were malfunctioning!! I am waiting for their arrival to see if this issue goes away!!

I just forced a restart of the entire network and (drum roll....)

NO MORE FLASHING LIGHT!

I can't believe how long it took and I have a lower opinion of Google products as a result, but I'm glad it's finally sorted. Hope this is fixed for everyone else as well.
