Hi -
I am having a hard time re-connecting my Nest / Google Mesh router ... Xfinity / Comcast is my ISP, I have a Netgeaqr CM1150V modem (modem and voice only, no wifi) and the google mesh router and two additional points.
They Google home network got corrupted or something, and after a long session with chat support, we ended up factory re-setting them. But now I can't delete the old instances, and I can't add them back ... I keep getting a 'no network connection' error code.
The Netgear modem / Xfinity are working great ... I have 700Mbps up, 25 down, and that isn't the issue other than I can't add wifi. And because I don't have wifi at this house where I have no cell coverage, I can't be connected to the internet via phone, but I can see the local network, including the 'setup' network ... but so far I have been unable to add the router back on. I am using the setup network on my phone, and the LAN cable from the mesh router (little globe port) is going to the modem out.
Any suggestions? Do I need to have cell connectivity while using Google home, if i have local network? Is the problem that I need to delete the existing old ones first? I can't seem to do that either.

Thank you for the response ... I figured out the problem. The answer to the question is 'yes, you can connect a mesh network without cell service, but only if the 'setup' network is working properly. '
Your mesh needs to be connected to the modem, which I was doing, and you need to be connected to the 'setup' network on your phone, which I was. The issue I was having was actually with my Netgear router; it wasn't providing a local ip address to the mesh, and the setup network was offline. I was able to view that (with the help of google/nest support) but looking at the status at http://192.168.84.1/api/v1/status on my phone as long as I was on the setup network. There we saw there was a problem (no ip, "online" = false) which I was able to solve by simply unplugging the power only for 30 seconds on the Netgear modem. Once the 'setup' network was online via the modem, I was able to remove old instances and add new because the phone is using that network to connect.
Anyway, I spent a day on that but got through it with a lot of help ... thanks everyone.

About no Wi-Fi or cell that can give your phone with the Google Home app internet access during setup:
About the old/ existing network inside the Google Home app.
The old network must be removed from the Google Home app first, else it (Google Home app) tries to add the puck as an additional mesh point.
You can't do the following in the Google Home app?
If no I'll escalate this thread. A workaround while waiting would be to create a new Google Home home, and set up the network inside that one.
