dramaticly slow upload speed when prioritizing a device

Hi

i noticed that since a few weeks, possible since the March update, when I prioritize a device, the upload speed is dramatically negatively affected:

i havea Gigabit internet provider (Fiber SFR in France)

- speedtest when not prioritizing download 300-400Mpbs, upload 300-400Mpbs (OK)

- speedtest when prioritizing download 300-400Mpbs, upload 0.06-0.07Mpbs (KO)

is this a known issue ? when could it be fixed ?

Hi 4ltus,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with the upload speed when prioritizing a device. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • Are you only experiencing this on devices that are prioritzed?
  • Have you tried doing a mesh test? What's the result?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

hello Edward

1. indeed the issue only impacts priotirized devices, I can replicate this problem both on my laptop and on my smartphone. As soon as I stop the priorization the speed is back to normal levels. Below the tests I did just now:

 - samsung S20 FE 5G : ping 7 dl 553Mbps ul 474Mpbs

 - samsung S20 FE 5G with priorization : ping 10 dl 161Mbps ul 4.64Mbps

 - samsung S20 FE 5G  after stopping priorization : ping 6 dl 572Mbps ul 472Mpbs

 - DELL latitude 5320 : ping 4 dl 475Mbps ul 361Mpbs

 - DELL latitude 5320 with priorization : ping 11 dl 0.46Mbps ul 0.34Mbps

 - DELL latitude 5320 after stopping priorization : ping 5 dl 491Mbps ul 380Mpbs

2. i did a mesh test just now and the results are "excellente connexion"  (in french). BTW my laptop & smartphone are 3m away from the main router, the access point is upstairs, i don't expect it to be involved in this test, is it?

Thanks,

B.
