iPhone was unable to proceed past scan QR code in Google Home app when setting up Google Wifi

Setting up the Google Wifi with 2 Nest Wifi Points was nowhere near as simple as the instructions suggested when using an iPhone. After scanning the QR code to set-up the router, I kept seeing the message "Connection failed". After several failed attempts, A LOT of googling, trying different solutions from forums, I eventually spoke to someone via Google Help and we found it wasn't compatible with the IOS app on iPhone 11 (with up to date software).

The NBN internet connection was working via Ethernet, but I couldn't get the WIFI to connect via the Google Home IOS App. After I switched to a pretty old Samsung device, I had no problems connecting the router and 2 mesh points.

If you're having the same issue, I suggest trying the same thing before giving up and taking it back to the store.
