I have a Google Nest Wifi Mesh Router, connected by ethernet cable to the Spectrum box. The Mesh Router provides my home WiFi network, which connects to an additional Mesh router to extend the network. I was able to set up the network using the Google Home ap on my iPhone. The phone is an iPhone 11 Pro, running 15.1.
This phone will no longer connect to the internet. In settings I'm able to connect to the home network, but under my network's name I see "No Network Connection" in yellow type. My laptops and Peloton have no trouble accessing the internet through the network; it just seems to be my phone that can't get on.
Any insights into how I can fix this would be very much appreciated!

Can any phone connect to your wifi? If so using the Home app go into Wifi, then "devices" and see if you can find your iPhone. Make sure it's not paused for some reason?
If that doesn't work...I also had some weird trouble when i first got my new Pixel 6, it wouldn't connect to my Nest wifi. I ended up creating a guest network on my wifi and connecting my phone to that, it worked fine. Left it for about a week then changed my phone back to the main wifi and it was all working, so i disabled the guest network. Never worked out why that worked but it did!

Hi Juzdu. Thank you for this, creating the Guest Network allowed my phone to connect. But it won't connect to my Sonos or Alexa, which are on the old network, but I'm going to try configuring them on the guest network and see if that works. Will report what happens. Thanks!

Hi Edward.
I was able to get this to work by creating a guest network. I'd prefer to have my phone on the main network but this workaround is ok for now.
Thanks.

Hi Docket,
Thanks for the update. Just to isolate the issue, does the Google Home app show your iPhone on the connected devices list when it's connected to the main network?
Thanks,
Edward

HI Edward. No, the Google Home ap doesn't show my iPhone on the connected devices list, unfortunately.

Hi, Docket.
I just wanted to jump in real fast to see if you saw Edward's reply and to see if you still needed some help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If you are still needing some help, just let us know and we'll be happy to continue helping.
Thanks.

Hi, Docket.
Sorry for the late response. I just wanted to catch up and jump in to help if you're still seeing the issue here. Are you still running your phone on the guest network, or have you manged to get it connected to the main network yet? Let me know and I'll be happy to start helping if needed.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff.
Thanks for the response. Yes, I'm still running my phone on the guest network. I've tried periodically to connect via the main network, but it's never worked.

Hey, everyone.
As an update for you all, I wanted to let you know that we have a firmware update coming out now. Some people may have already received the update, but most will see it coming still. Everyone will have it before the end of April. If you receive that update and don't see an improvement in your issues here, please let me know and we can keep looking into things.
Thanks.
03-31-2022 05:19 PM
Great to hear. Is the update currently available?
03-31-2022 05:32 PM
It's being rolled out gradually over the next month, all devices should have it by the end of April. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to get hold of it early. My devices don't have it yet.
04-01-2022 10:11 AM
Juzdu is right. The rollout will be to everyone before the end of the month, but there's no manual way to pull the update down. Sometimes a network restart will prompt a download, but generally the update will download and install as soon as it's ready.
Thanks.

Hey, everyone.
It's been a while since we checked in, but I wanted to see who was still waiting for that update and who might have received it by now. If you have, are you seeing any changes in your network performance or your devices?
Thanks.

Hey, everyone.
It looks like we've slowed down here. We'll be closing up the thread unless anyone else has any input or needs anything else. If so, just let me know and we can keep this open a bit longer. I know it's been a wait for the update, but most users should see it by now, so let me know if we are still having issues here.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff,
Can we reopen this thread?

Hi, I just bought new nest router mesh three pack. our phones are iOS. We are able to do initial set up with Just the router and the internet+router is working ok for laptops (windows and Mac). However iOS and our gaming consoles (PS5) are having connection problems. if we are on our phones on cellular data, it shows the connection and to connect to internet, it also shows the device is online if we check the home app. When we switch to wifi connection, our phone wifi says "no internet connection" and it claims the wifi router is offline, however our laptops maintain internet connection and the routers lights show no indication of an issue.
seems to affect any iOS device (HomePod or Apple TV.)
I don't see a way for the Nest home wifi to pull an Firm ware update. how can we validate if we are getting the firmware update for this fix?
07-18-2022 08:09 PM
exactly. I was thinking the same. How do we find out if and when we are getting a firmware update? could it be just lip service?
05-08-2022 01:39 PM
Just for some additional detail. We've tried doing 2 factory resets trying to rebuild with different device orders/combinations and we've had the routers online connected for over 12 hours (since 8pm yesterday)

Hi!
I have the same issue with my iPhone. Sometimes my iPhone gets no internet connection even if all the other devices seem to connect just fine. On Google Home app I see the device just fine and I have not blocked the connection nor do I have any family restrictions on this device. The only specific setup I have is ip assignment.
07-18-2022 08:07 PM
I cannot connect our iPhone 12 and 13 as well as the Mac to the main network. they all connect to the guest network. weird. I am just seeing this thread. It took me a few days to figure out the guest network by pass.
03-10-2023 07:32 PM
I have the same issue! I just upgraded to Nest wifi pro ! I never had this issue with my Orbi Netgear wifi

Hello sunnymoran,
I'm sorry to hear you're also having this issue. To confirm, were you able to try the troubleshooting steps that Mel suggested?
Regards,
Abi

Hello Abi,
yes, disabling "hidden IP" setting on iPhone works better but my laptop and iPhone take a long time to reconnect when you move from one floor the next in my home

I was able to find a workaround. It looks as if Google wifi is not happy if IP address is hidden on your iPhone when connected to wifi network.
Some @Google Nest should take a look on this and get us a fix to allow iOs devices to connect without Google being able to track IP address.
07-20-2022 10:55 AM
thanks for the link. what is baffling the phone will connect to the guest network but not the main network. so does that mean that the guest network is less secure with fewer checks and balances.?
07-22-2022 12:22 PM
Now the iPhone connection problem has extended to Android devices also. I have to use guest network for those also, the main WiFi network does not have internet connection.
01-17-2023 04:09 PM
Is there any updates on the solution? I'm running into the same issue. I am using a iPhone 13 and with google mesh router AC2200. I'm unable to connect to the internet at all even with guest network and no software updates available. Can anyone share their solution if there is one. Thank you
01-17-2023 04:33 PM
Hi Yoyoyoyo. My solution has been to create a second network, with its own name and password, on the same router, so two are running at once. The second hasn't had trouble connecting multiple devices and I've been good to go. Hope that helps!
01-17-2023 05:00 PM
Hi @Docket , thanks for your reply. Did you create a guest network as your second network?
01-17-2023 05:01 PM
I believe so, but it's been a year or so since I set that up. That sounds right though.
01-17-2023 05:20 PM
Gotcha thanks looks like this is also not working for me unfortunately.
01-17-2023 10:56 PM
I checked internet connection and it works also with a main WiFi network now so I don't have to use a quest WiFi anymore. I don't know what has happened.
My mesh router model is AC-1304 and software version 14150.376.32.
