I need to expand the wifi network, having a verty large old house with very thick stone  walls and therefore poor wifi coverage in different areas - probably need one "puck" en every romm (15 rooms). have five today, need 15 - does work?

Hello Björn Westerholm,

Getting WiFi coverage in a structure that has solid interior walls (brick, stone, concrete, plaster) is going to be extremely challenging. The Google/Nest WiFi systems rely on being able to connect to each other using 5GHz WiFi signals, too – and those signals don't go through solid walls well at all. The best solution here is to build a wired Ethernet network with a port in each room. Use that directly for as much equipment possible (having a small Ethernet switch in the room to make more ports available helps with that), and then hang a WiFi access point off of that network as well. This way, you aren't trying to rely on WiFi to create a network interconnect at all.

Now, as to vendors, Nest WiFi Router units have Ethernet ports that can be used to interconnect. But, Nest WiFi Point units don't. In a home with stone interior walls, I'm not sure Nest WiFi Point units are going to be all that useful. Google WiFi units also have Ethernet ports, and they can be added to a Nest WiFi system. However, you are going to run into limits before getting to 15 total units, even if they are all wired. If you really need that many, you may want to consider investing in another vendor that is more focused on wired-only installations. That will be more complex, but the result will likely be more reliable.
