static ip from dhcp pool range?

i want to assign a static ip to my printer using the home app and my google wifi router. i see how to do it but no instructions on selecting the actual ip number to reserve.  should it be within the dhcp pool range or outside of it?

I moved the DHCP range to start from 50 (192.168.6.50-255), then assign DHCP reservation outside of the range (192.168.86.2-49).
