the wifi i’m trying to connect my chrome cast to won’t show up for me to select. it’s a campus wifi.

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to our community! Let's see how we can get you connected. 
 
Campus WiFi tends to be a public network where everyone can see who is connected--since it's not as secure nor as dedicated a bandwidth to stream consistently, as Chromecast requires. It also might be against your campus policy to connect Chromecasts on your network (you might want to check; it varies campus-to-campus). 
 
However, some users within our Nest community have found solutions that are similar to your issue. Using a hotspot or using a router might also help get you connected.
