I have a wifi point in my bedroom and a connected smart light switch (leviton) in the same room. Everything works as expected when using a smartphone to control my devices but when i say “hey google, turn on the light” the wifi point replies “turning on 4 lights” (which is very smart light in my house).
I have the same setup in my son’s bedroom and if i say “hey google, turn on the lights” in his room the access point knows which lights to turn on..
i have tried removing both the light and the wifi access point from my bedroom in the google home app and i then putting them back but this doesn’t seem to help.
any ideas?

I finally (FINALLY!!!) got it ... for the record, here are the steps I took:
I had tried changing the room of the bedroom lights in the past, but never tried adding any other lights to the "master bedroom" nor had I ever tried adding multiple lights to one room ...
In any case... this seems to have (FINALLY!!) worked.
I appreciate that you kept staying with this post and following up. Thanks

Hi, bleen.
Sorry for the issues you're having with your smart device control. That sounds like a really confusing situation with the smart light. Let's see what we can figure out to get things working reliably for you.
With your smart lights, have you set up any routines in the Home app? If so, are any of the routines specific to one light bulb, or do the routines manage all of them?
Let me know what you have set up in regards to routines and we can see if there are any conflicts or changes that need to be made there.
Thanks.

Nope … no routines at all. The only thing i have setup are the rooms (which look right on the home screen).
thoughts?

Hey, bleen.
This one has been a strange one to try and find a resolution for, so I've passed it along to an internal team. As soon as I know more, I'll update the thread. If anything changes on your end in the meantime, just let me know.
Thanks.

Hey, bleen.
Just a quick follow up to see if you had seen any change in the situation on your end. Hopefully things are working better now, but if not, please let me know so we can continue to look into things.
Thanks.

Hi, bleen.
Sorry for the let reply here, but I still have been unable to find an answer on this. Have you had any luck at all with continued troubleshooting?

No luck at all ... I'm not sure what further troubleshooting to try

Hi, bleen.
I've been looking into this and still haven't been able to pin down a solution. I have found that some smart switches have issues with the WiFi network more than others, but I haven't found a specific mention of the one you're describing. Is that single switch the same brand as the rest of the switches?
12-17-2021 10:27 AM
Yes ... all my light switches (including this one) are Leviton Decora Smart 2nd Gen Dimmers. Everything works as expected in my living room; everything works as expected in ALL rooms with Apple Homekit AND with Alexa.
For the record, I did recently try to reset the google nest wifi point in my master bedroom to factor default and added it again, but with the same results.

Ok, thanks for the added info there. And to be sure, they are all connecting at 2.4GHz, right?

I believe so ... but not sure how to check that
