Google Nest Secure Deprecation - $200 Code Not Working

ocontreras
Community Member

I was a Google Secure customer and when I got the deprecation email I chose the $200 offer for the Google Store. I received the redemption code via customer chat (May 8, 2023) and saved the transcript to my email as I was unsure what I wanted to use the money for. I am trying to use the code now and I got the error message 'Coupon code has met redemption limit'. I haven't purchased anything from the Google Store since 06/2022 and I'm the only person that has access to my email which has the redemption code. Customer service through chat said they can see the code was redeemed but can't see on what or by who.

Hello ocontreras,

Thanks for posting in our Community. I’m sorry to hear that you're having issues redeeming the promo code.

While we don't support redeeming your offers, we can point you in the right direction. Our friends at the Google Store are the perfect folks to help you with it.

Regards,

Lance

Don't placate us by repeating the same instructions as already provided by other reps here. You have never responded to those form submissions before, and cannot be trusted to do so now. To make this right you owe everyone who has wasted their time on this issue a personal call with these codes and an additional $200 in cash for personal time wasted compensation.

I am guessing you are a chat bot as replies below have gone unanswered.

Yikes, I have heard that their insulting promo codes have been "cracked" or are being easily guessed at by hackers. Apparently many people's codes have been compromised.

I recommend not using that code, not moving to ADT, but rather calling Nest Support and asking for a "Full Refund and Return of my Nest Secure and associated devices."  Eventually they will relent and provide the full refund.

This has been my assumption all along about the previously-redeemed code that I was given, except it's less likely to be 'hackers" and more likely to be corrupt employees/contractors.

Please provide links to your source. This will be added to my state attorney general complaint, and will also file a complaint with the internet crime division of the FBI.

I'm not sure if this msgboard will let me share a link, but this Reddit thread describes a similar issue regarding the promo code being used already.
