Yale lock not compatible with latch

Silverado87

I purchased the nest yale deadbolt for my mother.  The existing door latch is 5" long.  The two screw holes that mount the deadbolt to the door do not line up and the rod that actuates the latch does not work on the existing latch.  I contacted yale but they say they do not manufacture a 5" latch so I am out of luck.  Has any one else had this issue and found a solution?

Hi Silverado87,

I’m sorry for the delay. Thanks for letting us know. The recommended latch is 2-⅜” (60 mm) Position and 2-⅜ “ (70 mm) Backseat or 2-¾” (70 mm) Position and 2-¾” (70 mm) Backseat. Have a look at this installation guide.

Thanks,

JT
